Meet Our Founders
Carolina Villaseñor
President & Founder, Carolina was born in Texas and raised in Mexico, where she spent childhood days alongside her father rescuing strays in Mexico, a formative experience that would later become her life's calling. She returned to Texas for college, studying Special Education at Sam Houston State University.
After years on a different path, life led her back to that childhood mission. Volunteering and working with a rescue organization in Houston, Carolina rediscovered her passion for saving dogs. When circumstances brought her and her family back to Mexico, she found new purpose in that unexpected turn; rescuing strays and finding them forever homes in the US.
Lorraine Hehn
Board Member & Co-Founder. With more than 20 years of experience in fostering, community service, and advocacy, Lorraine has spent much of her life helping animals in need. Animal rescue and giving back have always been an important part of her family’s life, and those values continue to guide the work she does today.
Based in Manvel, Texas, Lorraine plays an essential role in welcoming our newest rescues to the U.S. and helping them transition into home life. She has years of experience fostering puppies and large-breed dogs and has since opened her heart and home to dogs rescued from the streets of Mexico.
Lorraine also helps oversee our U.S. intakes, carefully evaluating each situation to ensure every dog receives the care, attention, and second chance they deserve.

Denisse Prater
Board Member & Co-Founder. Denisse grew up in Tampico, Mexico, before eventually making South Texas home. Her journey into rescue began with a Great Dane who had been dumped in an orange orchard in Weslaco, Texas. He was skin and bones, barely weighing 80 pounds, and she wasn’t sure he would even pull through.
He did and he became her very first foster fail. He grew into a healthy 125-pound Great Dane who absolutely loved life and stayed by her side until the incredible age of 14. Watching him go from barely surviving to thriving completely changed Denisse. He’s the reason she became so passionate, maybe even a little insane about rescue.
That experience sparked a passion that has only grown stronger, especially for the countless animals in South Texas and Mexico who just need someone willing to give them a chance.
